Part of the Department of Microbiology and the Duchossois Family Institute at the University of Chicago, our lab applies ecological and biochemical approaches to the study of microbial life. Major research interests include: (1) the role of the gut microbiome in human health and (2) the basis and function of specialized bioelectrochemical activities across diverse bacteria.
